Hi-Power HP48-160Ah — 48V 160Ah Lithium Battery
Charger included. One drop-in pack replaces a whole bank of six or eight lead-acid batteries, at 72 lb instead of 400 lb and up, and it arrives with a matched lithium charger so there is nothing else to buy. All 160 Ah is usable, where a lead bank is normally held to about half its rating to avoid wrecking it.
It holds voltage under load instead of sagging, so a loaded cart climbs properly and an outboard still makes speed late in the day, and it recharges at up to 120 A. The 225 A continuous / 800 A peak BMS is the number that matters behind a modern AC drive — a 600 A controller asking for current on a hill will get it, where a tired lead bank will not.

Marine and electric propulsion
A 48 V nominal pack rated 225 A continuous, and one of the sizes that can be wired in series for 96 V — which is what most inboard pod and sail-drive conversions run. For an electric outboard or inboard, two numbers decide it: your motor's voltage window at full charge, and its peak current draw. Send us the motor model and we will confirm this pack suits it before you order. We do this work on real boats and would rather tell you no than sell you the wrong battery.
Worth knowing: our 48V 100Ah pack cannot be series-wired to 96 V. The 160 Ah, 200 Ah and 250 Ah can.
Frequently asked questions
Does it really come with a charger?
Yes — a lithium charger is included at no extra cost, and you do not need to buy anything else to put the pack into service. The charger carries a 90-day warranty; the battery itself is covered for five years. If you want faster turnaround or a heavier-duty unit, we also stock Delta-Q QuiQ chargers we can program to the right lithium profile — this pack accepts up to 120 A.
How many lead-acid batteries does this replace?
In a 48 V cart, the whole bank — typically six 8 V or eight 6 V batteries.
Will it fit where my batteries are now?
It is 25.2" × 9.65" × 8.66". Measure your bay first, including clearance above the tray. If it is tight, send us the opening dimensions.
Can I keep using my old charger as a spare?
Not on this battery. A lead-acid charger will not charge lithium correctly and can void the warranty — use the charger supplied, or a lithium-profile unit.
Can I run two in series for 96V?
Yes. Talk to us first about fusing, charging and BMS behaviour in series — straightforward, but not something to improvise.
